Here is an excerpt about the Donlands from the Toronto Star, February 17, 1922:

“At Toronto’s Door

The estate is located northeast of Leaside and contiguous to that suburb. Roughly speaking, it lies between Leslie street and Woodbine ave., extended northwards; and between Eglinton avenue and Lawrence avenue, extended eastwards. It has a branch of the Don on each side of it, and is intersected by both the C.P.R. and Canadian National. It is best reached by motor via Don Mills road, which runs through it. By this route it is only six and a quarter miles from Queen and Yonge street, and less than four miles from North Toronto station.”
